New binary stars discovered by lunar occultations.

Abstract (from CDS):
We report on seven new binary stars observed by lunar occultations in the near infrared, with projected separations in the range 0.02" to 0.08" and magnitude differences up to {DELTA}K≃5.5. One of these is the suspected spectroscopic binary SAO 76140 (Taygete in the Pleiades cluster), for which duplicity had long been disputed and is now convincingly confirmed. The other stars are SAO 76841, SAO 76804, IRC +30150, SAO 77647, SAO 78514, SAO 77977. We also observed occultation events of two additional sub-arcsecond systems previously discovered at optical wavelengths, SAO 77819 and SAO 76721, for which we can derive the colors -and hence the probable spectral types- of the individual components. In the case of SAO 77819, previously known as triple, we also detected a fourth fainter companion, and we speculate that this is possibly an interesting example of a solar system-sized multiple star. A preliminary orbit for SAO 76721 is also presented. We discuss the opportunities for follow-up observations by other techniques of the stars presented in this paper.
