Nonlinear stellar pulsation. III. Fourier decomposition of theoretical RRab models.

FEUCHTINGER M.U. and DORFI E.A.

Abstract (from CDS):

The fundamental mode RR-Lyrae light and radial velocity curves presented in Feuchtinger & Dorfi (1994) are Fourier analysed and compared to observational data and other theoretical investigations. For the period range up to 0.8days the Fourier decomposition of the light curves reproduces the observed values for R21, {PHI}21 and {PHI}31. The comparison to Lagrangean investigations shows excellent agreement for the radial velocity Fourier parameters. In addition we are able to resolve the phase discrepancy problem at least for the short period range. For periods higher than 0.8days the Fourier phases {PHI}21 and {PHI}31 lie above the observed ranges. We discuss this problem in the context of a lack of observational data and convective energy transport.
