Abstract (from CDS):

We present spectroscopy of the four systems HM Aur, NSV 7956, FBS 0827+738, and PG 1316+678, which were classified as possible cataclysmic variables. Our data strongly suggests that either this classification or the respective finding charts are erroneous.
