A comparison of photometric and spectral classification of some stars in Perseus.

STRAIZYS V., CORBALLY C.J., KAZLAUSKAS A. and CERNIS K.

Abstract (from CDS):

Photometric classification of 18 stars in the areas around the reflection nebula NGC 1333 and the open cluster IC 348 in Perseus, based on the Vilnius seven-color photometric system, is compared with the classification based on stellar spectra. In general, a good correspondence of spectral classes is obtained. In some cases, the classification differences may be the result of the unresolved binarity of stars. Three stars are confirmed to be emission-line pre-main-sequence objects. Interstellar reddening law in the direction of IC 348 is estimated.
