Abstract (from CDS):

Further to IAUC 8131, J. Graham and W. Li report the LOTOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images on May 19.4 (mag about 17.2) and 20.4 UT (mag about 16.9). SN 2003ei is located at R.A. = 16h28m40s.30, Decl. = +12 46'05".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 4".6 west and 9".5 north of the nucleus of the northern component of UGC 10402, an interacting galaxy pair. A KAIT image taken on Mar. 31.5 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.5).
