Novae in M31.

FIASCHI M., DI MILLE F. and TIVERON D.

Abstract (from CDS):

Further to IAUC 8226, M. Fiaschi, F. Di Mille, and D. Tiveron report the discovery, on H_alpha-filtered images taken with the 0.41-m reflector, of another apparent nova in M31 located at R.A. = 0h42m44s.43, Decl. = +41o15'52".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 1".2 east and 16".2 south of the galaxy's center. Due to the proximity to the core of M31, the photometry is very difficult, but images from Oct. 25.942 and 27.992 UT yield mag about 16 for the new object; nothing was visible at this located on a similar image taken on Oct. 15 (limiting mag 18).
