Abstract (from CDS):

A preliminary spectrum of SN 2005eu (cf. IAUC 8611), obtained as above with SNIFS on Oct. 6.5, exhibits weak Si II 610.0-nm absorption, the Ca II infrared triplet, and S II "W". SM 2005eu appears to be a type-Ia supernova approximately one week prior to maximum light. Host H-alpha, [N II], and [S II] emission features indicate a redshift of z = 0.0349.
