SIMBAD references

The "Nearby Supernova Factory" group (N. Blanc, S. Bongard, Y. Copin, E. Gangler, L. Sauge, and G. Smadja, Institut de Physique Nucleaire de Lyon; P. Antilogus, G. Garavini, S. Gilles, R. Pain, and R. Pereira, Laboratoire de Physique Nucleaire et de Haute Energies de Paris; G. Aldering, S. Bailey, D. Kocevski, B. C. Lee, S. Loken, P. Nugent, S. Perlmutter, R. Scalzo, R. C. Thomas, L. Wang, and B. A. Weaver, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory; C. Bonnaud and E. Pecontal, Centre de Recherche Astronomique de Lyon; R. Kessler, Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics, Chicago; and C. Baltay, D. Rabinowitz, and A. Bauer, Yale University) reports that a spectrum (range 320-1000 nm) of SN 2005gl (cf. IAUC 8615), obtained on Oct. 13.5 UT with the Supernova Integral Field Spectrograph (SNIFS) on the University of Hawaii 2.2-m telescope, shows it to be a type-IIn supernova at a redshift of z = 0.016, consistent with that of the host galaxy NGC 266 (Huchra et al. 1999, Ap.J. Suppl. 121, 287, via NED). A spectrum of SN 2005gm (IAUC 8616), also obtained on Oct. 13.5 with SNIFS, reveals that it is a type-II supernova at an approximate redshift of z = 0.02, consistent with that of the host galaxy NGC 1423 (Theureau et al. 2005, A.Ap. 430, 373, via NED); the spectrum is well-developed, exhibiting H-alpha, He I 587.6-nm features, and the Ca II infrared triplet in emission.
