Supernova 2005ke in NGC 1371.

GREEN D.W.E.

Abstract (from CDS):

Using simultaneous Swift Ultraviolet/Optical Telescope (UVOT; wavelength range 170-650 nm) observations, detection was made of an excess of ultraviolet emission with respect to type-Ia-supernovae lightcurve templates starting around 35 days after the explosion. The x-ray and ultraviolet emission give evidence for interaction of the supernova shock with circumstellar matter, likely deposited by the companion's stellar wind with a mass-loss rate of 8 x 10**(-6) solar masses per year.
