Abstract (from CDS):
Further to IAUC 8693, E. Lee, R. Chornock, J. Burket, and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.2) on unfiltered KAIT images taken on May 3.31 and 4.31 UT. SN 2006by is located at R.A. = 13h26m09s.12, Decl. = +35o55'58".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 0".1 east and 5".7 south of the center of NGC 5149. A KAIT image taken on Feb. 9.50 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0).
