Supernova 2006cd in IC 1179.

Abstract (from CDS):
D. R. Madison and W. Li report the independent LOSS discovery of 2006cd on unfiltered KAIT images (cf. IAUC 8707) taken on May 8.44 (at mag 18.2) and 9.45 UT (mag 18.1). Their position for SN 2006cd is R.A. = 16h05m22s.01, Decl. = +17o45'04".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3".0 west and 11".2 south of the center of IC 1179, the southwest component of Arp 272 (the northeast component being NGC 6050). A KAIT image taken on Feb. 23.45 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag 19.5).
