Supernova 2006gc in UGC 3219.

Abstract (from CDS):
J. M. Silverman, T. N. Steele, and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra (range 325-1030 nm), obtained on Sept. 19 UT with the Lick 3-m telescope (+ Kast), shows that SN 2006gc is of type II, probably several weeks after the explosion. Removing the host-galaxy recession velocity of 8481 km/s (de Vaucouleurs et al. 1991, Third Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies), the minimum of the H-alpha P-Cyg profile is measured to be -11500 km/s.
