Optical spectroscopy of a post-AGB star HD 179821 (V1427 Aql).

KIPPER T.

Abstract (from CDS):

High resolution spectra of HD179821 (V1427 Aql), a supergiant with a detached dust shell, are analyzed. The atmospheric parameters estimated are Teff = 6750±200 K, logg = 0.50 (+0.25-0.50) and ξt = 6.5±1.0 kms–1. The abundances of elements suggest that the star is a low-mass post-AGB star evolving towards a planetary nebula phase. The other characteristics - high spatial velocity v☉ = 84±2 kms–1, high macroturbulent velocity vmacro = 23±4 kms–1, high and variable with the height microturbulent velocity, and large [Na/Fe]∼1.0 indicate a very high luminosity (and mass). Thus, the star needs further investigation.
