SIMBAD references

A. Harutyunyan, S. Benetti, and F. Sabbadin, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova; A. Fiorenzano, Telescopio Nazionale Galileo (TNG), report that a noisy spectrum of 2008ed (cf. CBET 1439), obtained on July 18.21 UT with the 3.5-m TNG (+ DOLORES; range 360-775 nm, resolution 1.8 nm) is consistent with that of a core-collapse explosion. The best fit to this spectrum found by GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, http://lanl.arxiv.org/abs/0804.1939) is with that of SN 1998S at about 20 days after discovery.
