Abstract (from CDS):
L. Elenin, Moscow, Russia, reports that his images, obtained remotely at the Tzec Maun Observatory at Pingelly, Australia, on Aug. 7.579 UT with a T akahashi Epsilon 180 telescope (+ ST2000C camera with a (blue-sensitive color chip), yields mag 8.3 for the nova (cf. CBET 1899) and position R.A. = 18:07:07.67, Decl. = -33:46:34.9 (equinox 2000.0; rms about 0".14, measured with Astrometrica software).
