SIMBAD references

J. M. Silverman and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley; and R. J. Foley, Center for Astrophysics, report that inspection of a CCD spectrogram (range 320-1020 nm), obtained on Sept. 22 UT with the Keck I 10-m telescope (+ LRIS), shows that the object is a type-Ib or type-Ic supernova; weak He I lines appear to be present, but should strengthen with time if the object is a normal type-Ib event. The redshift of the host galaxy, measured from narrow emission lines, is 0.014.
