Abstract (from CDS):

Further to CBET 2128, S. Nakano reports that H. Nishimura measured mag 8.0 for the nova on Jan. 16.86 UT. Nakano adds that K. Kadota subsequently measured a star on a U.K. Schmidt Telescope plate (via the Digitized Sky Survey) taken on 1997 Mar. 31 to have red mag 16.7 and to be located at R.A. = 17:39:40.96, Decl. = -21:39:45.4 (equinox 2000.0).
