Abstract (from CDS):

We report the discovery of three nova candidates in M 31 on 7x60s stacked R filter CCD images obtained with the robotic 60cm telescope with an E2V CCD (2kx2k, 13.5 micron sq. pixels) of the Livermore Optical Transient Imaging System (Super-LOTIS, located at Steward Observatory, Kitt Peak, Arizona, USA) on 2011 June 7.418 UT. The objects are visible on all individual images.

The magnitude for the first nova candidate is 16.5,

the position RA = 00h41m23.07s, Dec = +41d06'17.4"(J2000, accuracy of 0.3"), which is 918" west and 592" south of the core of M 31.

The magnitude for the second nova candidate is 18.1,

the position RA = 00h42m02.69s, Dec = +41d02'54.5"(J2000, accuracy of 0.3"), which is 471" west and 795" south of the core of M 31.

The magnitude for the third nova candidate is 18.3,

the position RA = 00h42m24.13s, Dec = +41d11'54.9"(J2000, accuracy of 0.3"), which is 228" west and 255" south of the core of M 31.

There is no entry in VizieR/CDS for these objects and no minor planet could be found on the positions using the MPC/IAU Minor Planet Checker (see http://scully.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/checkmp.cgi).

All magnitudes given are obtained from a photometric solution using R magnitudes of the Local Group Galaxy Survey M 31 catalogue (Massey et al. 2006, AJ, 131, 2478).
