Abstract (from CDS):

Five red variable stars are presented, which were identified by investigation of ASAS-3 V photometry: 2MASS J10304435-6900330 (Type: SR, P=162d); 2MASS J14061380-4936323 (Type: M, P=434.8d), 2MASS J15210387-3704413 (Type: M, P=299.0d); GSC 6276-02108 (Type: L); GSC 9291-02483 (Type: SR, P=40d). Amplitude and period were derived from ASAS-3 V data. In the case of the semi-regular variables, the predominant period is given. Spectral information was taken from the Catalogue of Stellar Spectral Classifications; astrometric positions were derived from the 2MASS Catalogue. All objects were checked against the Strasbourg CDS Vizier service, the International Variable Star Index and the ASAS Catalogue of Variable Stars for pre-existence in variability catalogues.
