Supernova 2011bq in IC 1288 = PSN J18292236+3942345.

SILVERMAN J.M., FILIPPENKO A.V., SONNENFELD A. and SAND D.

Abstract (from CDS):

J. M. Silverman and A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of a CCD spectrum (range 340-1000 nm), obtained by A. Sonnenfeld and D. Sand (University of California, Santa Barbara) on Apr. 16 UT with the 3-m Shane reflector (+ Kast) at Lick Observatory, shows that PSN J18292236+3942345 = SN 2011bq is a type-II supernova with well-developed Balmer lines having P-Cyg profiles; after removal of the host-galaxy recession velocity of 5800 km/s, determined from narrow emission features, the absorption minimum of the H-alpha line is found to be blueshifted by about 6300 km/s. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "SuperNova IDentification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that 2011bq is a type-IIP supernova at 2 to 3 months past maximum brightness.
