SIMBAD references

S. Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, reports the discovery by Koichi Itagaki (Teppo-cho, Yamagata, Japan) of an apparent supernova (mag 16.4) on a unfiltered CCD frames (limiting mag 19.0) taken on Aug. 4.77 UT using a 0.60-m f/5.7 reflector (+ BITRAN BT-21 camera). The new object is located at R.A. = 2:25:48.89, Decl. = +18:32:00.0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 27" west and 133" north of the center of NGC 918. Nothing is visible at this position on the Digitized Sky Survey (limiting mag about 20; no bandpass or date provided). The variable was designated PSN J02254889+1832000 when posted at the Central Bureau's TOCP webpage and is here designated SN 2011ek based on the spectroscopic report below.
