SIMBAD references

B. Moore, A. Sehgal, and T. Puckett report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.0) on an unfiltered CCD image (limiting mag 19.9) taken with a 0.50-m reflector at Osoyoos, British Columbia, on Sept. 6.4795 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search. The new object, which was confirmed at mag 18.0 on Sept. 7.439 by Sehgal at Osoyoos, is located at R.A. = 2:02:19.02, Decl. = +19:39:39.6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 2".8 west and 8".5 north of the center of UGC 1523. Nothing is visible at this position on images taken by Puckett on 2010 Oct. 17 (limiting mag 19.8). Puckett has posted an image at website URL http://possdata.com/PSNJ02021902+1939396.jpg. The variable was designated PSN J02021902+1939396 when it was posted on the Central Bureau's TOCP webpage and is here designated SN 2011gk based on the spectroscopic confirmation reported below.
