Supernova 2012Q in ESO 366-18 = PSN J06462664-3653134.

Abstract (from CDS):
N. Elias-Rosa, Institut de Ciencies de l'Espai, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas; and G. Pignata, Universidad Andres Bello, on behalf of a larger collaboration, report that a spectrum of PSN J06462664-3653134 = SN 2012Q, obtained on Jan. 22.21 UT with the European Southern Observatory's New Technology Telescope (+ EFOSC2; range 365-930 nm; resolution 1.8 nm), shows it to be a type-Ic supernova. The best fit to this spectrum found by GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A.Ap. 488, 383; available at website URL
https://gelato.tng.iac.es/login.cgi) suggests that PSN J06462664-3653134 is similar to the type-Ic supernova 1996bx at a couple of weeks after explosion, if a redshift of 0.031669 for the host galaxy (Theureau et al. 1998, A.Ap. Suppl. 130, 333; via NED) is assumed. The overall shape of the continuum is very red, implying that the supernova is heavily extinguished [E(B-V) about 0.8] by dust. In addition, the spectrum shows a strong, narrow Na I D absorption at the velocity of the host galaxy with an equivalent width of 0.46 nm. The Schlegel et al. (1998, Ap.J. 500, 525) dust maps indicate a value for Galactic reddening of E(B-V) = 0.146 mag.
