SIMBAD references

S. Valenti, A. Pastorello, L. Tomasella, S. Benetti, E. Cappellaro, M. Fiaschi, P. Ochner, and M. Turatto, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, report that a spectrum (range 360-810 nm; resolution 2.3 nm) of PSN J01494770+3144496 = SN 2012S was obtained on Jan. 27.84 UT with the Ekar-Copernico 1.82-m telescope (+ AFOSC). Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra via the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that 2012S is a type-II supernova at z = 0.035, similar to SN 2004et at a few days after the explosion.
