Abstract (from CDS):

L. Tomasella, S. Benetti, A. Pastorello, and S. Valenti, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, report that a spectrogram of PSN J10540167+4601389 = SN 2012am, obtained on Feb. 25.95 UT with the Asiago 1.82-m Copernico Telescope (+ AFOSC; range 350-820 nm; resolution 2.4 nm) shows a blue continuum and prominent, narrow emission lines of hydrogen, suggesting that it is a young type-IIn supernova.
