SIMBAD references

L. Tomasella, S. Benetti, E. Cappellaro, A. Pastorello, P. Ochner, M. Turatto, and S. Valenti, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, report that a spectrum (range 360-810 nm; resolution 2.3 nm) of 2012bs was obtained on Apr. 1.12 UT with the Ekar-Copernico 1.82-m telescope (+ AFOSC). The spectrum shows that 2012bs is a type-Ia supernova. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra via the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows a best fit with several standard type-Ia supernovae near maximum and a redshift of z = 0.066. The expansion velocity derived from the deep Si II absorption is about 11500 km/s.
