Ein Algolsystem entdeckt im Doppelstern V1288 Scorpii.

HAUCK N.

Abstract (from CDS):

Modelling of old V and new UBIc photometry data of the close binary system V1288 Sco revealed annular and total eclipses. Fitting the light-curve solution of both components into grids of stellar models has been successful for a semi-detached configuration of an early B-type dwarf and a late A- or early F-type subgiant. The system is a metal-deficient runaway binary and showing the Algol paradox. Mass ratio q (M2/M1) = 0.09 is one of the lowest found among known Algol systems. The modelling gives masses of 7.11 and 0.65 Msun, and radii of 3.73 and 1.78 Rsun for the B-type primary and the A-/F-type secondary component, respectively.
