Carbon Monoxide Emission from the 1998 Outburst of the Recurrent Nova V2487 Ophiuchi.

RUDY R.J., LYNCH D.K. and PUETTER R.C.

Abstract (from CDS):

Infrared spectral observations from 2.3 to 2.48 μm from the 1998 outburst of V2487 Ophiuchi (Nova Oph 1998) show the presence of carbon monoxide emission from both 12CO and 13CO four days after discovery and five days after peak brightness. This makes V2487 Oph only the second recurrent novae to have detected CO emission (after V745 Sco) and the first without a giant as the secondary component. The CO emission was short-lived, disappearing from the spectrum three days after detection.
