Supernova 2003hv in NGC 1201.

DRESSLER A., PHILLIPS M., MORRELL N. and HAMUY M.

Abstract (from CDS):

A. Dressler, M. Phillips, N. Morrell, and M. Hamuy, Carnegie Observatories, report that a spectrum (range 390-1007 nm) of SN 2003hv (cf. IAUC 8197), obtained at Las Campanas Observatory on Sept. 10.36 UT with the Baade 6.5-m telescope (+ IMACS), shows it to be a type-Ia supernova. The spectrum bears strong resemblance to that of SN 1994D taken two days after maximum. The minimum of the Si II 635.5-nm line yields an expansion velocity of -10800 km/s (adopting the NED host-galaxy recession velocity of 1671 km/s).
