Similarities between radio-source structure and gamma-ray bursts.

RYS S.

Abstract (from CDS):

Because it has been widely accepted that a relativistic description has to be used for modeling all classes of energetic outflows from active galactic nuclei, we propose a simple analytical model of decelerated motion which is able to explain the shape of double-peaked light curves of gamma-ray bursts. We suggest that differences between bursts may be due to the angle between the line-of-sight and direction of the outflow, and that the deceleration parameter takes the role of a scaling factor of the burst duration. Assuming special relativity formulae and the position of the observer with respect to the outflow, we are able to model the burst gamma-ray light curve. At least some similarities between the observed shape of gamma-ray burst and the spatial structure of radio sources can be supposed.
