Superwasp: wide-angle search for planets.

STREET R.A. (The SuperWASP Consortium)

Abstract (from CDS):

SuperWASP is a custom-built ultra-wide angle photometric observatory designed to provide long-term baseline photometric data for tens of thousands of stars of 7-14 magnitudes. The total field of view covered by one SuperWASP station is ∼300 square degrees, and two such stations are currently planned. The first station has been constructed on La Palma, Canary Islands, and the first observations were obtained in Autumn/Winter of 2003. The primary science goals of the Consortium are the detection of exoplanetary transits, asteroid and comet detection and optical transient discovery. The photometric data will be made publicly available via a web-based database.
