Supernova 2004au in MCG +04-42-2.

FILIPPENKO A.V., FOLEY R.J. and CHORNOCK R.

Abstract (from CDS):

A. V. Filippenko, R. J. Foley, and R. Chornock, University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra obtained on Mar. 16 UT with the Keck I 10-m telescope (+ LRIS; range 310-920 nm) shows that the object is of type II, roughly 1 month past maximum brightness, with well-developed P-Cyg profiles. The recession velocity of the host galaxy, measured from H_alpha in superposed H II regions, is 7300 km/s. The ejecta expansion velocity, derived from the minimum of the H_alpha absorption line, is about 6600 km/s.
