LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf of the CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 16.3 ± 0.3) on an unfiltered image taken on June 27.10 UT with the 0.41-m 'PROMPT 3' telescope located at Cerro Tololo. The new object, which is also present in an image taken on June 27.98 at mag approximately 15.5 ± 0.2, is located at R.A. = 15:54:50.94 ± 0".1, Decl. = -68:43:00.2 ± 0".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 28".7 east and 0".8 north of the center of the galaxy ESO 68-12. Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on June 1.19 and 11.08 (limiting mag 18.0).
