N. Morrell and M. Phillips, on behalf of the Canegie Supernova Project, write that they obtained optical spectroscopy (range 362-944 nm) of 2009in (cf. CBET 1926), 2009iu (cf. CBET 1937), 2009iw (cf. CBET 1942), 2009jd (cf. CBET 1950), and 2009je (cf. CBET 1951) on Sept. 27.04-27.37 UT with the 6.5-m Magellan II Clay telescope (+ LDSS3) at Las Campanas Observatory. Inspection of the data reveals that 2009in is an evolved type-Ia supernova; cross- correlation with a library of supernova spectra via the Supernova Identification tool (SNID; Blondin and Tonry, 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates that 2009in is most similar to supernovae 2002ic and 2005hk at about 7 weeks past maximum brightness, supporting its classification as peculiar type Ia. SN 2009iu is a type-Ib supernova; SNID finds good agreement with the spectra of several normal type-Ib events from 1 to 2 weeks past maximum light, with a best match to SN 1999dn at 7 days past maximum. The spectrum of 2009iw is that of a type-Ia supernova near maximum light; SNID provides very good comparisons with spectra of normal type-Ia supernovae between 7 days before and 3 days after maximum brightness. Assuming for the host galaxy (IC 2160) the NED recession velocity of 4739 km/s (Wong et al. 2006, H I Parkes All Sky Survey Final Catalogue), the minimum of the Si II 635.5-nm line is blueshifted by 10300 km/s. Inspection of the spectrum of 2009jd reveals it to be a type-II supernova, roughly 1 month after explosion; from the H-alpha emission line in the spectrum of the nearest galaxy (2MASXi J0029552-043511) a recession velocity of 7546 km/s is derived. Considering that redshift, the minimum of the P-Cyg absorptions of H-beta and H-alpha in the SN 2009jd spectrum are blueshifted by 3600 km/s and 5600 km/s, respectively. The spectrum of 2009je is that of a type-Ic supernova, probably a few weeks after maximum light, although it might be younger according to some of the matches produced by SNID (e.g., 1997dq at 1 day before maximum).
