NISHIYAMA K. and KABASHIMA F.

Abstract (from CDS):

Koichi Nishiyama (Kurume, Fukuoka-ken, Japan) and Fujio Kabashima (Miyaki-cho, Saga-ken, Japan) report the discovery of an apparent nova (mag 17.2) in M31 on six 40-s unfiltered CCD frames (limiting magnitude 19.0) taken around Jan. 28.437 UT using a Meade 200R 0.40-m f/9.8 reflector (+ SBIG STL1001E camera). The new object is located at R.A. = 0:43:20.28, Decl. = +40:58:30.2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 405" east and 1058" south of the center of the galaxy M31. Nothing is visible at this position on the Digitized Sky Survey red and infrared plates. Additional magnitudes from Nishiyama and Kabashima for M31N 2010-01c: 2010 Jan. 24.433, [19.4; 26.438, 19.0 (limiting mag 19.5).
