[NOTE: this replaces the text on CBET 2365 (Boles' discovery observations were in July, not June)] T. Boles, Coddenham, England, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.5) on unfiltered CCD images taken on July 11.005 and 11.925 UT with a 0.35-m reflector. The new object is located at R.A. = 15:38:39.79, Decl. = +41:00:19.9 (equinox 2000.0), which is approximately 8".0 west and 1".8 north of the center of UGC 9947. Nothing is present at this position on Boles' images from 2010 Feb. 19 and Apr. 21 (limiting mag 19.5) or on Digitized Sky Survey plates from 1993 Apr. 17 (limiting red mag 20.5) and 1990 Mar. 31 (limiting blue mag 21.0).
