L. Tomasella, S. Valenti, P. Ochner, S. Benetti, and E. Cappellaro, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica; and A. Pastorello, Dipartimento di Astronomia, Universita di Padova, on behalf of a larger collaboration, report that a spectrogram (range 360-810 nm; resolution 2.2 nm) of PSN J01180780+1733298 = SN 2011fv, obtained on Sept. 24.04 UT, is that of a type-II supernova. Together with P-Cyg Balmer H lines, Fe II features are clearly detected, suggesting that the supernova was observed a few weeks after its explosion.
