TW Vul - ein vergessener unbekannter heidelberger veraenderlicher.

WENZEL K.

Abstract (from CDS):

In 1904, Max Wolf discovered a variable star on Bruce Plates in Heidelberg. On a few plates the star is bright (13 - 14m) and on other plates it is invisible. In the literature I found only the disovery article by Max Wolf. Visual inspections with my 16inch Newton, CCD frames from W. Dueskau and the Bradford Robotic Telescope (BRT) show that the star variables from 16 - 18m. I could not find an outburst which showed the star as bright as in the past. Here, I present the historical lightcurve based on the Heidelberg Bruce Archive, the POSS and modern CCD frames from W. Dueskau and the BRT. Wolf's star TW Vul is probably a cataclysmic variable.
