Giancarlo Cortini, Predappio, Italy, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 15.4) on several unfiltered CCD images (limiting mag 18.5) taken on July 9.91 UT (no instrumentation specified). The new object is located at R.A. = 7:54:55.48, Decl. = +72:36:34.6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 6" east and 8" south of the center of UGC 4067. The variable was designated PSN J07545548+7236346 when it was posted at the Central Bureau's TOCP webpage and is here designated SN 2012dq based on the spectroscopic confirmation reported below.
