Calibration relations for core-collapse supernovae.

PUMO M.L. and ZAMPIERI L.

Abstract (from CDS):

Using our new general-relativistic, radiation-hydrodynamics, Lagrangian code, we computed an extended grid of hydrogen-rich core-collapse supernova (CC-SN) models. With these models, we investigated how variations of the main parameters affecting the post-explosion evolution of CC-SNe combine together to produce a number of calibration relations, which may be useful for their `standardization' as distance indicators. We tested the existence of some calibrations already reported in the literature and their sensitivity to the 56Ni mixing and the He/H ratio in the ejected envelope. We also proposed other correlations, including one based solely on the behaviour of the light curve.
