Flare activity of PSR J0653+8051.

Abstract (from CDS):

We present an investigation of PSR J0653+8051 undertaken with the Large Phase Array (Pushchino, Russia) at a frequency of 111 MHz. This pulsar shows three components in the 102-4850 MHz frequency range. We detected a few dozen very strong pulses with amplitude more than 110 times the mean profile amplitude. Detailed analysis showed that all strong pulses with a 5-20 σ signal-to-noise ratio occurred in the central component of the pulse profile. This effect is unusual: we detected pulses of this magnitude on only two out of 400 days of observations.
