A Pair of Tidally Disrupted Galaxies from The Hubble Legacy Archive.

Abstract (from CDS):

We describe archival, serendipitously obtained Hubble Space Telescope (HST) observations of a tidally disturbed galaxy pair (AM 0436-472 NED01/LEDA 503707) located at z = 0.058 (240 Mpc). The system likely belongs to peculiar ring galaxies of Solitaire type. We also analyze an archival optical spectrum of AM 0436-472 NED01 and report an upper limit in X-rays (0.2-10 keV).
